About the Role

Position The purpose of this classification is to maintain grounds and facilities at assigned city owned property.

Responsibilities Maintain grounds, facilities, and irrigation systems. Perform routine grounds‐keeping tasks such as

mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, raking, collecting trash, cleaning sidewalks and parking lots, clearing brush and

stumps, applying insecticide or herbicide, maintaining ball fields, and hauling collected trash to the landfill. Carry

out landscaping tasks including designing flower beds, planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, laying sod, seeding grass,

pruning, gathering soil samples, and related activities. Install or repair playground equipment, picnic tables, dugouts,
